Breaking News: OSUN SUPPLEMENTARY ELECTION: INEC AND APC IN A NEW DANGEROUS PLOT.

The attention of the CUPP has been drawn to credible intelligence showing a new conspiracy by some national officers of Inec to tamper and manipulate the Osun guber re run with the ongoing release of uncollected PVC to the desperate APC government in Osun to use imported voters to vote at the rerun.

We wish to alert the public that INEC in furtherance of this move being coordinated by an INEC senior officer from South West has refused to release the official list of people who have collected PVC’s at the 7 polling units where election is to be held. We have it on good authority that less than 1000 registered voters have collected PVC’s out of the 3,498. This means that less than 1000 persons are to participate in the actual voting. We demand that INEC immediately release this list. The delay is a calculated plot to announce a fictitious figure of uncollected PVC to enable APC use those PVC to share to thugs imported from Lagos into Osun.

The plot includes a move to use incidence form to vote knowing that the finger prints of those with the hijacked uncollected PVC can’t be read by the Smart Card Reader.

We are also aware that the ICT Unit of the Commission is on the verge of releasing the confidential telephone numbers of registered voters of the re run Polling units to the leadership of the Oshiomhole led APC working in concert with the outgoing APC governnent in Osun. The plan is to call, harass and bribe the voters with an already mapped out huge sum from the Paris Ckub refund ordinarily meant to pay long suffering Osun workers their 3yrs salary.

We wish to call on Yakubu Mahmood to take charge of what is left of INEC and avoid some desperate APC compromised officers from igniting a huge crisis like the wild wild west that will lead to collapse of our constitutional governance

The CUPP has thoroughly assessed all outcomes of the recently conducted Osun Governorship elections and cautions that there should not be any attempt to subvert the will of the people. It was obvious that the electorate in Osun have resolved to punish the bad governance of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

As part of the assessment, the CUPP states that the electoral umpire performed very commendably in the deployment of man and material to the Polling Units that by the time of opening of Polls by 8:00am virtually all the Polling Units were open. Electoral officers (permanent and adhoc) conducted themselves very well until the about to be sacked ruling APC discovered that it was losing by wide margins and began frantically to compromise electoral officers and security personnel while it unleashed its thugs on peaceful voters who came out massively to deservedly issue them a red card from the government house of Osun State.

We insist that all electoral officers who were fingered or arrested in attempting to subvert the free will of the Osun people should be made to face the full wrath of the law to serve as a deterrent to other election duty personnel that there will be zero tolerance for rigging. Particularly, the Polling Officer who ran away with material in the Polling Unit in Osogbo, the one arrested for tearing original results in Aiyedaada LGA, the woman he allegedly fingered as his boss who gave the directive and indeed all others who perpetrated infractions should be brought to book.
It is a shame that the abysmally performing APC could resort to underhand tactics to steal the victory of the people over bad governance. The people yet again and for the umpteenth time resisted the marauding antidemocratic forces of the APC. The have sent a clear message to all Nigerians that indeed this calamitous government can be sacked by sheer unwavering resolve, collecting of PVC’s, vigilance and insistence that our votes must count. Indeed the votes of Osun people will count.

The National Secretariat of the CUPP will for the first time practically show the strength of the coalition by moving in massively to Osun to rally candidates and supporters of all political parties in the coalition to massively vote for Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP to emerge as the governor of Osun State on Thursday. The APC cannot be allowed in its trademark style to steal another victory from the Nigerian people. Their days are numbered; they know it and their desperation cannot stop it.

On Thursday, INEC will have no options but to declare the PDP candidate, a member of this coalition as the duly elected governor of Osun State. We call on the Commission not to succumb to the shenanigans of the APC as the good people of Osun will protect their votes, their future and their destiny on Thursday.
