2023: Voters, Not Rumour Peddlers, Will Decide Atiku’s Fate – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said that votes by the electorate will determine the victory of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar, in the forthcoming general elections, not rumour peddlers.

He described support by some politicians to Atiku as inconsequential if they are not working to mobilise grassroot voters to secure victory for PDP.

On Tuesday, Wike gave a speech at the opening of the state government’s newly constructed Government VIP Lounge at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, in the Ikwerre Local Government Area.

The governor expressed regret that some politicians located in Abuja took joy in making accusations against him in order to get the support of the PDP presidential candidate in a statement released by his special assistant for media, Kevin Ebiri.

We are busy campaigning with our plans for how our party would win the state’s elections, he declared. In Abuja, other people are busy spreading rumors and gossip. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, we are very busy here (in Rivers). On Monday, we’ll get back to work, marking off and commissioning initiatives that will promote our event.

“Wike did this every day, and then they’ll call the candidate, according to the press. You can see what I stated today regarding Wike. Tenant hunters. No job. You’re too busy working every day, Wike replied, to take any action that will help your party win the elections in 2023. I don’t know how or where you heard about Wike. possibly in a dream.

“You want to back the candidate, but you’re in Abuja and not at home. Return home, engage in party work, and campaign. Stop spreading rumors about the candidate in Abuja.

Any party that wants to win elections “cannot be on their own be making difficulty for themselves,” according to Governor Wike.

According to Wike, his administration has been kicking off initiatives that show it kept its election promises.

We have promised that we will keep any promises we have made before we leave office on May 29, 2023.

And let me add that a minister from the state can only be one person. I wouldn’t work as a pastor. I won’t be a burden. A plus is Rivers State. It is your prerogative if you don’t wish to prevail in the election.

“I am not a candidate for office. Whoever is wearing the shoe is aware of its tight spots. So, permit Rivers State to carry on as they are by leveraging our projects to engage with our population.

Although the Port Harcourt International Airport is owned by the federal government, Governor Wike noted that his administration chose to build the VIP lounge in order to provide Rivers residents with the best.

In order for the structure to continue serving the people for a long time, he claimed that the state government will maintain it.
