The Nkanu East Consultative Forum headed by erudite professor of robotics Bartholomew Nnaji, before and during the party primaries demonstrated uncommon vigor and tenacity in convincing critical stakeholders in the 3 senatorial zone on why Nkanu East should be given a chance to produce the next governor of the State. It will not be an over statement to say that members of this Noble Association have written their names in Nkanu Hall of Fame. Like Thomas Jefferson puts it , “Never in the history of mankind have so much been done to so many by so few. “
As a show of gratitude , Nkanu East people led by the ebullient Chairman of the Council, Hon Sydney Edeh, paid a thank you visit to the Executive Governor Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Friday, the First day of July , 2022.
The thank you visit was a gathering of obviously the highest crowd ever received in Government House Arena.
In his welcome address, the governor said, “Apart from divine guide by the Almighty God, the developmental challenge of Nkanu East informed my decision to support the emergence of a Candidate from the Council Area. ” His Excellency was right. Nkanu East narrative is a pitiable story of paucity of basic infrastructures and zero absence of Federal or State Institution. In Nkanu East, electricity and good roads are rare bird. All major Communities are connected with Bailey bridge built during the civil war. In Amankanu , pregnant women are usually conveyed with wheel barrow to Ubahu Health Center during raining season. Infact, it took the intervention of the governor for the local government headquarters in Amagunze to be accessed during heavy downpour. Burial and wedding ceremonies are shifted as a matter of exigency to dry season every year.
From the above highlight, one can readily understand why a traditional ruler wept in the open while delivering his speech at the thank you visit event and why security operatives were unable to control the Ekpe masquerades during their carnival display. Nkanu East people were happy with the governor for keeping to his promise. He has always maintain in every fora that his Successor will come from NKANU LAND.
The cheering news today is that the man nominated as the PDP State flag bearer is someone with an immaculate track record.

Enugu is in dire need of a paradigm shift from monolithic economy to a diversified one. We need in earnest the service of a private sector driven manager. Youth unemployment which is a social time bomb is swelling and yet the gate of our comatose industries remain shut. It is time to open them.
A wealth Creator is our best bet for a prosperous Enugu State.
