Gov. Ugwuanyi, Jim Nwobodo, Mbaka, others to be Honoured as Leadership Scorecard Holds 2nd Annual Lecture, Award Night in Enugu – By Collins Kaineme

    The 2018/2019 edition of Leadership Scorecard Annual Lecture is loading with great expectations as we prepare to celebrate the 2018/2019 outstanding personalities in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large, with His Excellency, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Governor of Enugu State to be honoured as the “Best Governor of the Year”; Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) – Godwin Emefiele as the “Entrepreneurship Development Icon of the Year; Sen. Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District as the “Senator of the Year”; Hon. Toby Okechukwu, member representing Awgu, Aninri, Oji River Federal Constituency as the “Grassroots Developer of the Year”; Hon. Pat Asadu, member representing Nsukka/Igboeze South Federal Constituency as “Grassroots Man of the Year”; Prof. Sam Ndubisi, Managing Director/Chief Executive, Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), Enugu as “Public Servant of the Year”; Prince Akachukwu S. Akachukwu –  the President/CEO of Skyshore Group Ltd (SGL) as “Private Sector Personality of the Year”; Prof. H.D Ibrahim, Director General/Chief Executive of Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Abuja as “Research and Development Icon of the Year”; Sen. Jim Nwobodo, former governor of Old Anambra State (today Enugu, Anambra and Ebonyi States put together) as the “Elder Statesman of the Year”.

Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN) as the “Personality of the Year; Mr. Chris Onyekachi Simon – C.E.O of Softran System Enterprises Nigeria Limited as “Humanitarian Icon of the Year”; Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh (Awgu North House of Assembly Constituency Candidate for 2019 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party) as the ” Woman Leader of the Year”; His Excellency, Alh. Dr. Atiku Abubakar GCON, former Vice President of Nigeria and the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in the 2019 presidential election as the “Democrat of the Year 2018″; and other prominent Nigerians who shall be honoured on the 7th of February, 2019 at Best Western (Plus) Hotel, Enugu. Red Carpet starts by 7pm. Lecture Theme: “Peace for Sustainable Development – the Role of the Citizens”. The Keynote Speaker: Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed – the Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, shall be honoured as “Agent of Social Engineering”.

    The 2nd edition of the Leadership Scorecard awards also recognizes NTA – Enugu – Zonal Network Centre as an “Outstanding TV Zonal Station of the Year”; Solid 100.9 FM as the “Grassroots Radio Station of the Year; Everyday News as an “Outstanding Online Media Platform of the Year”.

    In retrospect to the Leadership Scorecard Inaugural Awards/Lecture held at the National Centre for Women Development, Central Area, Abuja, on the 7th of December, 2016, to much fanfare, approval and expectations. After weeks of planning, strategizing and publicity, the award/lecture finally held. Created with the objective of realizing and recognizing worthy leaders, business people and entrepreneurs, the award takes into account, for a greater part, those who have greatly impacted on their immediate environment – even in the most minutes of ways.

    Chaired by Dr. Emman Shehu, the President of Abuja Writers Forum (AWF), the representative of the Honourable Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu as the Special Guest of Honour, with the Emir of Keffi, HRH, Dr. Shehu Cindo Yamusa III, as the Royal Father of the Day and the Chancellor of De-World University Mgbowo, Rev. Kevin Eze,  joining them on the high table, the event saw worthy recipients from every sector imaginable recognised for how much they have given in effort, kind, time or otherwise to help their people, the nation or promote knowledge in their desired field of study.

    Besides the unveiling of the upwardly mobile magazine on the night, the celebration of the birth of the Leadership Scorecard was marked, official introduction of the Leadership Scorecard media team and a lecture on the Nigerian economy, how the naira can become king again and what Nigerians must do to help the nation’s currency become buoyant once more.

    The music for the evening was provided by upcoming, Abuja-based artiste, Aishida, who thrilled the audience with a brief number, ‘Good Morning,’ Africa (even though it was clearly evening) and some witty compering from the host of the evening’s affairs.
