ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Nigeria Youths in Politics (NYiP) has congratulated Prince Humphrey Onyima, Chairman of its Southeast Advisory Council, on his appointment as Special Adviser on Investment Strategy and Public Relations to the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
The organisation described the appointment as a testament to Prince Onyima’s proven leadership capacity, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to youth political development in Nigeria.
Prince Onyima has been a pillar of NYiP, rising through progressive leadership responsibilities. He previously served as National Vice Chairman, Southeast, before his elevation to Chairman, Southeast Advisory Council — a role in which he championed youth participation, responsible leadership, and democratic values across the region.
NYiP noted that his elevation within the organisation reflects the deep confidence reposed in his experience, character, and capacity for strategic leadership.
The organisation also commended Governor Peter Mbah for sustaining a governance model that deliberately places young people at the centre of development in Enugu State.
Governor Mbah has consistently affirmed that youth are at the core of his governance philosophy, noting that he was deliberate in not only ensuring youth representation in his cabinet but also entrusting them with significant responsibilities.
This youth-inclusive approach is evident in his administration’s policies and programmes, including the Enugu State Youth Policy anchored on principles of inclusion, innovation, gender equity, participation and accountability, his commitment to equip 40,000 youths annually with digital and entrepreneurial skills, and the expansion of youth skills development initiatives across the state’s 17 Local Government Areas.
Enugu youths themselves have described the Mbah administration as the most youth-friendly since the return to democracy in 1999, noting that the Governor is not just talking about youth inclusion but demonstrating it through appointments, policies and projects.
“Prince Onyima’s appointment is therefore not an isolated gesture, but a continuation of Governor Mbah’s disruptive and deliberate youth inclusion agenda,” said Hon. Blessing Oyefeso, President of Nigeria Youths in Politics.
“We are confident that Prince Onyima will bring the same dedication, professionalism, and visionary leadership that he demonstrated in NYiP to his new role. His expertise in investment strategy and public relations will be invaluable to the Governor’s drive to position Enugu as a prime investment destination and a hub for innovation.”
“On behalf of the entire leadership and members of Nigeria Youths in Politics, I extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prince Onyima and our profound appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, for his trust in the capacity of young Nigerians to lead and deliver. We wish Prince Onyima wisdom, success, and impactful service in this new assignment.”
