The Senior Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Enugu State Governor, High Chief Frank Anioma Ezesinachi, has inaugurated the Governor Mbah Authentic Squad (GMAS), a grassroots support group for Governor Peter Mbah and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The inauguration ceremony was held on Wednesday, August 20, 2026, at Umuelo Ovoko in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.
GMAS was founded and is fully funded by Princess Edith Ngozi Ugwuanyi, a diaspora philanthropist who has lived in the United States for over 35 years.
Founder Highlights Administration’s Achievements:
Speaking at the event, Princess Ugwuanyi said the group was formed to consolidate and promote the achievements of the Mbah administration.
She cited key interventions across sectors, including:
- Education: The introduction of Smart Green Schools across the state.
- Healthcare: The establishment of Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres and the completion of the Enugu International Hospital.
- Security: The development of a robust security architecture to tackle crime and criminality.
- Transportation: The construction of modern bus terminals, which has eased transportation between Nsukka and Enugu.
“We have also unveiled an original campaign song, which I composed and produced, to support Governor Mbah’s campaign activities going forward. These and many other bold reforms have endeared His Excellency to Ndi Enugu,” Princess Ugwuanyi said.
Call for Issue-Based Campaigns.
In his inaugural address, Chief Anioma commended the founder for her commitment and formally inaugurated the group. He charged members to work diligently for the victory of all APC candidates in the general elections scheduled for January 16 and February 8, 2027.
He urged the group to focus on issue-based campaigns centered on the people-oriented projects and transformative programs of the Governor Peter Mbah-led administration.

The event was attended by top government functionaries, party leaders, and community stakeholders, including Hon. Favour Asogwa, APC candidate for Igbo-Eze South State Constituency; Chief Ejike Amedu, APC Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA; and Hon. Barr. Ugo-Ferdinand Ukwueze, Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, who all expressed support for Governor Mbah’s administration.
