John Mikel Obi has hit out at former Super Eagles Captain, Sunday Oliseh, labeling him as the worst coach in history.
During a recent installment of his Obi-One-Podcast, the 36-year-old retired football icon discussed his encounters with the former Nigerian national team.
He vehemently expressed discontent with Oliseh’s managerial abilities.
“He (Oliseh) was completely clueless as a manager. While he was a fantastic player in his prime, his coaching abilities were terrible. He had no grasp of managerial duties and lacked direction,” Mikel candidly stated on the Obi One podcast.
Mikel reported that players found it challenging to grasp Oliseh’s methods, and the coach appeared disoriented, causing a disruption in the team’s unity.
Recalling Oliseh’s dismissal, Mikel shared that the coach attributed his lack of success to supernatural forces, asserting that individuals and the Football Association had allegedly employed voodoo against him.
“He was undeniably the worst manager I played under. Bitterness and jealousy seemed to consume him, and he displayed a complete lack of respect in his interactions, be it with the physio or anyone else,” he said.
The former Nigerian football team captain, Mikel Obi, has laid blame on former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, for the premature retirement of goalkeeping legend Vincent Enyeama.
Mikel, on his ObiOne podcast, labeled Oliseh as “absolutely clueless” and “easily the worst manager” he played under.
Recounting a tense encounter in camp, Mikel described Oliseh’s disruptive impact on team dynamics, accusing him of creating division and forcing Enyeama out of the team.
Mikel asserted that Oliseh’s lack of managerial skills and understanding led to confusion among the players, ultimately branding him as the worst manager in his career.
