The events of Saturday 15th May 2021, has no doubt left remarkable prints in the hearts of the elderly people of Ugwuaji in Enugu south Local Government Area. The elderly people of Ugwuaji had turned out in their large numbers for the GburusCare medical outreach program that held at the premises of Community primary school Ugwuaji.
The large turn out would have been overwhelming if it was not evenly balanced by the reinforced presence of medical personnels numbering to a total of 40 practitioners. The outreach had started and continued on a very promisory note as more and more elders trooped in to benefit from the healthcare program. The GburusCare team had come ready and prepared with all of its medical unit fully staffed. Participants were also offered free face masks and hand sanitizers to ensure strict adherence to Covid 19 protocols.
The outreach then assumed a threshold as the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ikechukwu Obi arrived the venue to observe the program. He was still making round observing and preaching strict adherence to COVID-19 saftey protocols when His Excellency himself, the Executive Governor of Enugu state, Rt Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi stormed the venue to also join the medical outreach.
The governor who sat among the elderly people seized the opportunity to engage with the the president general of Ugwuaji town union, the onowu and other available leaders of Ugwuaji on the way forward for Ugwuaji town. It was indeed a momentous occasion for the elderly people as they excitedly sat and interracted with the Governor.
Governor Ugwuanyi commended the GburusCare medical volunteers for their testifiable commitment to humanity while urging them to continue to contribute their quota to it’s advancement.
The medical outreach of the Gov. Ugwuanyi healthcare program(GburusCare) at Ugwuaji ended as a verifiable success as elderly persons testified of even immediat impacts.
