The Federal Government has announced that it will support 250,000 farmers to develop agriculture in Nigeria.

Minister of Finance and Minister of Economy, Wale Edun, announced this during the launch of NAGS program on Wednesday in Abuja.

He added that the focus will be more on the use of farms such as rice, maize, crops and dermatologists, to improve food supply and reduce high prices in the market.

Distribute resources and money to farmers

Minister Edun said the program will help develop modern agriculture by providing farm equipment, funding, and improving methods of conservation for farm resources.

Added that the program will receive funding from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and a program in cooperation with Brazil.

Wale Edun has announced that 200,000 farmers will be given support in the spring, and 50,000 in the summer.
