The management of a real estate firm, Praco International Limited on Saturday debunked rumours making the rounds that one of its buildings under construction in Abuja had collapsed, trapping an unspecified number of victims.
The incident, alleged to have happened on Friday, was said to have occurred at one of the company’s site located in Guzape, Abuja.
But in a reaction to the ongoing rumour, which has found its way to various social media platforms, the managing Director and Project Manager of Praco International Limited, Dr Chukwudubem Ezekwelu said no such incident happened at any of the company’s sites in Abuja or anywhere.
According to him, contrary to the rumours being peddled that many have died and others trapped at the site, no single death was recorded, nor was anyone trapped.
Dr Ezekwelu explained that what happened at the Guzape site of the company, was that a client decided to demolish an ongoing building project, to change the design.
“To put the records straight, there was no collapse at the Guzape site.
“It was a demolition of a building by a client, who wanted to change the model of the building, which was still at skeletal stage, to a different design of his choice.
“There was also no casualty resulting from the demolition, as is being peddled in some media outlets,” he said.
Describing the rumour, as the handiwork of detractors, who are bent on tarnishing the unequalled agelong reputation of the real estate firm, Ezekwelu warned the detractors and their paid bloggers to desist from spreading such false news.
He reiterated the commitment of Praco International Limited, to upholding international standards and best practices in the building and construction business, adding that the company has a track record of professional and quality performances.
“We have come a long way in professionalism and excellence, to begin now to undertake substandard projects.
”Praco International Limited is an incorporated real estate company that has built many structures across the country, with many also ongoing and we pride ourselves as a household brand in terms of real estate development.
“We want to assure the public and our clients that we are committed to what we do and will never relapse into low quality projects,” Dr Ezekwelu assured.
