Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Emir of Kano, His Highness Khaleefa Muhammad Sanusi II has been selected as the Co-Chair of the newly-inaugurated Abia State Global Economic Advisory Council (AGEAC).
Former Minister of Finance and Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is also one of the Honourary Advisors of AGEAC which was inaugurated by the governor of Abia State, Alex Otti on Thursday.
This was disclosed in a statement by Otti’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Nedu Ekeke, with the governor selecting three Co-Chairs, three Honourary Advisors and 14 Members in the 20-man AGEAC
“Gov. Alex Otti is inaugurating the Abia State Global Economic Advisory Council (AGEAC). The trees Co-Chairs are Ms. Arunma Oteh, His Highness Khaleefa Muhammad Sanusi and Mr. Bolaji Balogun,” Ekeke wrote.
The members are Mr. Victor Onyenkpa, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, Mr. Chidi Ajaegbu, Mr. Uche Orji, Mrs. Ndidi Nwuneli, Mr. Chika Nwobi and Dr. Olugbenga Adesida.
Other members are Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe, Mazi Clement Owunna, Dr. Uzodinma Iweala, Mrs. Ezinwa Okoroafor, Mr. George Agu, Mazi Uzo Nwankwo and Mr Chinedu Azodoh.
Ekeke added that the three Honourary Advisors are Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Dr. Benedict Oramah and Dr. Benedict Oramah.
According to him, the board is an international body of advisers made up of experts from around the world.
Ekeke also said that the grand goal is to help Abia State become a preferred investment destination in Africa.
