A welfare policy incentive introduced by the Governor himself as a bonus to the workers since the year 2015, except for 2020 that the World witnessed Covid-19 pandemic.It was when Gov. Ugwuanyi came on stage that local economy without oil saw Enugu State emerging the 9th best performing States in terms of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in Nigeria.The State’s IGR slightly over N31 billion as at that time was adjudged good enough to beat all Oil producing States except Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom States.The above rating came in the month of May 2020 from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), from States rankings on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).Enugu State under Governor Ugwuanyi was also listed by BudgIT alongside Lagos and Rivers States as the only three (3) States out of the 36 States in Nigeria that have fulfilled their obligations to their workers despite witnessing the worst recession in history.Furthermore, Enugu State was listed amongst the seven (7) States that are Solvents with impressive over (30%) percent Internally Generated Revenue to fund additional Economic projects, as captured by the Prestigious Economic Confidential (EC). The National Competitive Council of Nigeria equally listed Enugu State Economy under Gov. Ugwuanyi, as the fifth (5th) Competitive State in Nigeria and the third (3rd) most debt Sustainable State in the entire country.Enugu State still holds the record of being the First (1st )State in Nigeria to have published it’s Audited State’s final accounts for Three consecutive years. First in the Southeast geo-political zone, and Ninth(9th)in the Country based on IGR as against Federal Allocation.These are quite remarkable accomplishments because when Gov. Ugwuanyi took his oath of office way back in May 29th 2015, the entire country witnessed acute Economic recession, consequently making the office of the Governor quite unattractive, with drastic reduction in crude oil prices in the global Market Albeit the economic challenges, Ugwuanyi’s Administration did, and is still doing massive verifiable Capital Projects both in the Urban and Rural areas. With road networks covering over 3000 kilometers of intra and inter-State roads including the first ever flyover, built by Enugu State Government since its history — thus creating an unbeatable record in the Enugu State history of leadership delivery since creation.There’s also a recorded tremendous exploits in the maintenance of infrastructures built by previous administrations, especially the failed portions of Urban roads,(Agbani Road, parts of Independence Lay-out, GRA and Abakpa, etc.There are also the renovation and reactivating of traffic and as well as Street lights mostly cannibalized by vandals.To boost and sustain the economic and nightlife activities in the main Urban centres of Enugu, Ugwuanyi’s administration procured an good numbers of 60KVA power generating sets installed to replace old and aging ones in Enugu Urban Areas and at the same time installing new ones in the University Town of Nsukka. It’s on record that Enugu State under Governor Ugwuanyi’s watch respect the sanctity of Local Government as the third tier of Government by consistently without a let conducted elections that ushered in Local Government Executive and the Legislative Arms.Democratic Local Government Administration in the State had equally impacted positively on rural transformation, enhanced participatory democracy and inclusiveness which in turn has deepened our political democratic processes.In furthering the capacity of the State Economy and Tourism potentials, Gov.
