OPM congratulates the Executive Governor of Enugu State, H/E, Rt. Hon. Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the State Chairman of PDP Hon. Chief Augustine Nnamani as well as other stakeholders across the 17-LGAs in Enugu State on the successful conclusion of the Local Government elections in the state. The Peoples Democratic Party under Governor Ugwuanyi has demonstrated unimaginable capacity by rallying both the Muslim Community and non-indigenes in the State together and showcasing high level of political mobilization in the anal history of Enugu State politics.This is indeed a testament of our dear Governor’s humility, peace building and inclusion of all strata of the Society in governance.The good people of Enugu State came out en masse to stand in solidarity with our dear Governor. It is therefore, the good works of the governor in terms of massive infrastructure, especially in the rural areas along with his uncommon leadership qualities which have to do with fairness, peace and good governance that made it easy for the PDP to be widely accepted and voted for by Ndi-Enugu.The Stakeholders on their part have demonstrated unparalleled solidarity and sense of gratitude to the Governor irrespective of their Political Party affiliations for the peace as well as the progress of Enugu State. Governor Ugwuanyi has through his exemplary leadership delivery, entrenched in Enugu State, the brand of politics without violence and acrimony.In keeping faith with his campaign promises, H/E, Governor Ugwuanyi has consistently maintained gender parity through Women and Youth Empowerment (WYEP) economic concepts, Youths inclusion in leadership and decision making processes, affordable Housing schemes, quality healthcare delivery with sustainable policy on maternal and child care initiatives in the Health Sector since assumption of Office seven years back.In the same vein, aggressive Rural Infrastructural development, Informational and Communication Technologies (ICT), and massive Rural transformation which have consequently and strategically placed Enugu State as one of the global investment and business destinations.Surely, the newly sworn in Council Chairmen, their Deputies and various Councillors shall sustain the tempo in their respective domains. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s leadership in Enugu State has also transformed Enugu State into a one stop tourism destination which in turn has opened up vistas of business opportunities. The new Enugu State Unity Park located in Enugu North Local Government Area and the recent renovated State Public Parks in Uwani, Enugu South Local Government, hold lofty prospects, even much more to the city dwellers, and the Enugu State economy at large. OPM believes that the modest efforts of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to transform the State from a civil service City into a Tourism and business wonderland finds a robust bearing if and only when we all place the Government’s security disposition at the moment within the context of the global vision in order to consolidate the sound visions of our founding fathers. Finally, with the successful conclusion of the Local Government elections in Enugu State, OPM is inviting the World to Enugu State to witness the serene and peaceful environment as a result of good governance.Indeed, the New Enugu State has transformed into SouthEastern Nigeria and West African Tourism Destination. Enugu State will continue to be in the hands of God, even beyond 2023 to consolidate on the building of a New Enugu State of our dream.To God be the glory, Amen.
