His administration’s massive concentration of development projects in the rural areas of the State, geared towards checking rural-urban migration has further given life to several communities across the length and breadth of the state.
Most people running their local businesses in the rural areas are very comfortable with little or no interest in migrating to the urban centers, due to the presence of certain basic amenities (roads, rural electrification, cottage hospitals, schools, etc.) put in place by Ugwuanyi’s administration.
Ugwuanyi’s extollable leadership qualities also go hand-in-hand with his peaceful, humble, focused, hardworking; the essential tool-kit of all grassroot politicians who have carried out massive development efforts in rural communities.
Ugwuanyi has remained undaunted, resolutely sustaining the building of the ideal Enugu State as foreseen by its founding fathers; a state where peace, harmony, inclusion in governance and rapid development remain unmovable landmarks.
Also,Ugwuanyi’s policy thrust has become the fulcrum of his administration’s success, making it possible for communities in Enugu State who have not felt any positive impact of past administrations do so in ambience, equity and harmony.
The re-invigoration and completion of the Nike Lake Road and Abakpa Nike-Emene Link Road in Enugu East local government area are a testament to the governor’s desire to make better once-deplorable portions of the state.
The 9th Mile By-pass in Udi local government area, Opi-Nsukka dual carriage way in Nsukka local government area, New Market-Milliken Hill at Ngwo 9th Mile Road, Agbani-Amuri Road in Nkanu west local government area,the Ogonogoeji-Ndiagu Akpugo Road from Atavu Bailey Bridge to Afor Onovo,amongst others,are projects which underline how much degradation these places had to endure before now.
The Ngenevu Road, constructed with the provision of two 500KVA transformers by ‘Gburus’ for the suburbs of Enugu that have never witnessed any form of government presence, as well as other high-density interventions in areas such as the Iva Valley, Ugbodogwu, Emene, etc have seen once-forgotten locales all benefit from the administration’s rural development drive.
The 49km Udenu ring road linking over 10 adjoining communities with three Bridges also stands out as one of the numerous legacy projects of the Gburugburu Administration in the rural areas.
The 8.8 klm road in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area. Abandoned for over 36 years, connected to Nkalagu Ebonyi State was reconstructed to high standard by the Ugwuanyi’s Administration.
The Ogbaku and Ituku roads in Awgu Local Government Area (one of the 35 simultaneous development projects), which was constructed on a different terrain, both hilly and undulating.
The Ebonyi River Bridge in Isi-uzo Local Government Area which connects so many adjoining communities to Ikem, the council area headquarters.
The Akpugoeze-Mamu Forest road in Oji River local Government Area. The Nike lake junction, Harmony Estate-Amorji Nike, Adoration Pilgrimage center road with five river crossings linking Abakpa and Emene with serious potentials to decongest traffic in those areas.
The ODENGENE PEOPLES MOVEMENT (OPM) is particularly impressed with Governor Ugwuanyi’s strategy, as well as measures employed in tackling insecurity. With the creation of the new Ministry of Security Affairs, appointment of a security consultant to the State Government and constant purchase of ancillary security equipments (vehicles and motor bikes) to enhance the operations of the personnel in the state.
