Not Fewer Than 10,000 People Will Participate in Enugu Fitness Walk With Kanu Nwankwo PAPILO on 29th September.

No fewer than 10,000 Nigerians within and outside Enugu will converge to participate in the September 29th Enugu Fitness Walk with former Super Eagles captain, Kanu Nwankwo PAPILO, in the ancient capital city of Enugu, the capital of old Eastern region, as part of the activities to mark 2022 World Heart Day.

This year’s edition, themed “ENUGU Fitness Walk with Kanu Nwankwo (Papilo) to make the heart beat” is scheduled for Thursday, September 29th, 2022.

The convener Kanu Nwankwo and chairman of the local organizing committee (LOC) High Chief Engr. Jerry Onukaibe, while addressing newsmen on Friday, said the walk would help Nigerians in keeping fit and maintain a healthy heart.

“it’s a walk not only for Kanu but for ourselves.

The more you walk, the better for your heart. The aim of the walk with Kanu is to improve awareness and intervention on the need to protect and care for our hearts.

“ENUGU Fitness Walk With Kanu” is an event to commemorate the globally celebrated World Heart Day. It will commence from Michael Okpara Square by 7am, through routes cutting across Presidential road, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Stadium, Intel Junction, Old Artisan, Otigba Junction, New Haven axis by Upper Chime, then divert by the New Haven Primary School, enter Nza Street and back to Okpara Square as an endpoint,” he said.

Kanu Nwankwo, also revealed that the event will witness the participation of Nigerian celebrities, football legends and notable personalities.

He assured that every logistic has been perfected, adding that there would be free medical checkups for participants before the commencement of the walk by 7:00am on Thursday.

He also reiterated the achievements of Kanu Heart Foundation (KHF) that was created 21 years ago and has sponsored over 600 persons across the country, with over 224 persons are awaiting to be beneficiaries.

Kanu Heart Foundation remains one of the non-governmental organizations in Nigeria established to help indigenous children and adults suffering from cardiac-related diseases.
