Ike Ekweremadu, senator representing Enugu West Zone in the National Assembly for the past 17 years, currently the Chairman Senate Committee on Environment, should be held responsible for the lack of government presence in Awgu local government area and not Hon. Prince Humphrey ONYIMA, the Director of Enugu West General Assembly, EWGA.
Between 1999 and 2003, Ekwewremadu was Chief of Staff to the former Governor of Enugu State and Secretary to the State Government under former governor Chimaroke Nnamani; what did he do for Awgu LGA?
Ekweremadu was Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic, uninterruptedly for good 12 years, how many Awgu sons and daughters did he help get into the Federal Civil Service? Not one, till date.
Ekweremadu was former speaker of ECOWAS Parliament; how many Awgu people today can boast of gaining employment into the ECOWAS, courtesy of Ekweremadu? Not one.
How many contractors in Awgu today can be placed at same status as Ekweremadu’s contractor, Engr. Jonathan Ivoke? No, not one.
Ekweremadu has no traces of development in Awgu LGA, instead he uses our people as instrument of division to sow seed of discord and disaffection among brethren.
Ekweremadu hiring some ignorant Awgu youths to go about castigating Hon. Onyima on social media will only add salt to injury.
We challenge our people to rise up against the antics of Ekweremadu’s divide-and-rule pattern in Awgu. Ekweremadu should stop marginalising Ndi Awgu in the name of ‘Greater Awgu’. Enough is Enough.
