Members of the New Karu LGA council appointees in Nasarawa Staten have been charged to justify the trust placed in them by the people of the area and give the people something to be happy about their in office.
Speaking to the newly inaugurated members recently, the newly elected chairman of the LGA, Hon, Samuel Akala Gajere, advised the new appointees to view their appointment as a very huge responsibility placed on their individual shoulders, a responsibility they should accept with humility and great determination to justify the trust and confidence his administration and the people have placed on them.
Speaking during the inauguration, Akala said: “Having met the challenges presented to us by leadership deficit of the past, on assumption of office and with deep sense of responsibility, I soon realised there was so much work to be done – addressing the many challenges of poor working condition of council staffs, loose wage bill, lack of transparency and accountability in the council’s tax administration, increasing crime rate, unemployment, inadequate security for the growing population of Karu, poor and insufficient health care facilities, lack of good network of roads and other necessary infrastructures that can fast-track growth and development of Karu Local Government Area.
“With your appointments to serve under this administration, you are expected to consolidate on the gains of this present administration; we shall, henceforth, together as a team, renew our commitments to the Greater Karu Project.
“However, you all must quickly settle down and focus on your duties, as the council is expecting much from you. You must discharge your responsibilities with uttermost transparency and fear of God. “This administration expects total loyalty from all of you. This administration has been met with so many challenges but our success story is the fuel that keeps us going,” he said to roaring cheers and applause.
