Hypocrisy In Nigerian Politics Second To None

Hypocricy is Nigerian second name – a childhood friend told me over the last weekend, that my support for Peter Obi is due to tribalism.

In response, I told him we should do a very simple test of tribalism, that we should both list out all the presidential candidates we supported since 1999 and see how it goes. I told him that;

1999 – I supported Obasanjo – a yoruba man
2003 – I passionately voted Obasanjo – a yoruba man (don’t forget Ojukwu contested presidential election in the same election)
2007 – I didn’t just vote Ya’adua – a Fulani man, I was also a PDP party agent at my ward in Bayelsa state at the time.
2011 – I voted Goodluck Jonathan – an Ijaw man
2015 – I campaigned passionately, donated, skip my day pay Job, just to support Buhari, a Fulani man.
2019 – I supported Atiku Abubakar – a Fulani man

In view of the above, it means in my entire life, I have never supported or voted any Igbo man for any presidential election until now.

I asked my friend to write his own list – since last weekend, I have not heard from him. But, I know why, that’s because the accuser has become the accused. As my childhood friend, I know he;

Voted Buhari in 2003, Buhari in 2007, Buhari 2011, Buhari in 2015, Buhari in 2019, and now seriously campaigning for Atiku Abubakar for 2023.

Guys – please help us be the judge.
