A group, Enugu West General Assembly (EWGA) Women Wing in the FCT Abuja, has said it would support and partner Sen. Osita Ngwu, in his endeavours to deliver quality representation for Nigerians especially those of his district.
Hon. Mrs Chinyere Collins-Ezimako, Coordinator of the group, made the promise on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
She said that the group was satisfied with Ngwu’s focus on human capital development, youth and gender friendly initiatives before and after he became a senator of the federal republic.
According to her, such programmes will enable the Enugu West populace to pursue self actualisation programmes for the purpose of fending for their families and other dependents.
“We are convinced that Sen. Ngwu’s tenure will create a lot of social and economic impact in Enugu West in no distant future.
“The youthfulness of the senator and his disposition to carry his constituents along will be an added value to his legislative duties.
“We are confident to say that Sen. Osita Ngwu, popularly known as RG, will make our senatorial zone very proud,” Mrs Ezimako said.
She said that Ngwu was holding the senatorial mandate in trust for his district and urged him not to be distracted by the lifestyle of self-centered politicians who pursue personal gains at the expense of the citizens.
“It is common knowledge that some old-breed politicians seek public office to serve their private interests.
“We, however, note that your entrepreneurial background and humility are far above such self-centered obsession.”
Mrs Chinyere Ezimako also called on the senator to collaborate with Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu and members of his cabinet to ensure the spread of democratic dividends to various parts of Enugu state.
“We are elated to have you as our senator at this time and we are very much eager to reap from your intellectual, business and legislative prowess.”
The group also called on people of Enugu state to key into the infrastructure and economic development model of the state government by working hard to raise the state’s gross domestic product (GDP) to enviable height.
