Group Hails Ugwuanyi for Making Enugu Safe Haven for Investment – By Blessing Edeh

    Enugu West Emancipation Movement (EWEM) has applauded Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s giant strides in Enugu State, saying that his feats in securing the state from vices have positioned it as a safe haven for investment and living.

    In a statement by the group’s Coordinator in Awgu Local Government Area, Comrade Uchenna Nwafor on Wednesday expressed delight with Gov. Ugwuanyi’s proactive measures taken so far in tackling the sudden security challenges in the state.

    The group went further to applaud Gov. Ugwuanyi for being the first among the governors of the South East zone to commence the operation of Forest Guards as security measure, emphasizing that it was an indication that “our governor is highly determined and committed to nip in the bud the atrocious activities of these hoodlums, who are terrorizing our people of recent, especially in Enugu West rural communities. Just as he did in other zone, “if you are coming into Enugu from Nsukka axis, as you passed through Opi junction descending down, you will think you are in some parts of Europe. And we know how that road used to be in the past. Some people who live in Enugu State will tell you that kidnapping is no more happening on that road, it’s gone. Security is now fully restored in Enugu State. Security is the top fundamentals the entrepreneurs require to even begin to set up investment. So, we thank Gov. Ugwuanyi for making Enugu State safe for investors.

    The group emphasized that the recent incidence of security challenges that was somehow centered in Enugu West is now a thing of the past, adding: “that Gov. Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu) have secured continuity of good governance in Enugu State”, following his remarkable achievements in spite of the nation’s economic challenges.

    They also commend the massive infrastructural development in Enugu State, adding that they are impressed that Gov. Ugwuanyi has transformed the state with numerous projects befitting of a premier city which stands today as the capital of South Eastern Nigeria.
