GOV. UGWUANYI RECLAIMS ENUGU RANGERS’ LOST GLORY 32, 35 YEARS AFTER – By Humphrey Onyima

    Enugu Rangers FC beats Kano Pillars 4-2 on penalties, after a 3-3 draw at full time in the final of the 2018 NFF/AITEO Cup in Asaba. Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration reclaims Rangers’ lost glory after 35-years winning the Federation Cup. Rangers won the Federation cup last in 1983.

    Again, another milestone achievement in Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration, Enugu Rangers FC won the 2015/2016 NPFL trophy after 32 years.

    Rangers won the Federation Cup five times in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1981 and 1983, narrowly loss to FC Ifeanyi Ubah in 2016 final played in Lagos.

    Few days to the Federation Cup final, Gov. Ugwuanyi appealed to residents of Enugu State and the entire South East geo-political zone, including traders in Onitsha, Enugu, Aba, Asaba, and others, to come out en masse at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, to cheer the Flying Antelopes. History was made of recent, Enugu Rangers reclaimed the lost glory courtesy of the administration of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Governor of Enugu State.

    It has been a celebration galore for the Government and people of Enugu State, South-East Nigeria, as the 2018 AITEO Federation Cup side, Enugu Rangers on Wednesday 24th October, lifted the trophy after beating Kano Pillars of Kano State 4-2 on penalties shoot out. This feat is coming after 35 years of struggling to win the cup to victory.

    Enugu State is truly in the Hands of God.
