Enugu: Uzodinma Andrew Ekene of UPP Goofed on Gov. Ugwuanyi – By Levi Odogwubueze Jnr.

In a season of partisan frenzy, fair, objective assessment of human development issues and governance has taken flight. This is even more so when folks who pretend to evaluate these issues are charlatans dressed up as objective assessors. Under this garb, they glibly push twisted, unseasoned perspectives that seek to diminish and ridicule.

One such charlatan is Uzodinma Andrew Ekene who said he is governorship candidate of United Progressive Party (UPP) in Enugu State. He has curiously deployed blatant lies and malicious media attack against the high-performing governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who is the most cherished and celebrated chief executive of the state. The recent and continuing gale of endorsements for his re-election by virtually all spheres of the society speaks to the governor’s popularity and widespread acceptability.

This simply portrays the so-called Uzodinma Andrew Ekene as a failure, irresponsible and insincere element, unworthy of being presented to fly the flag of a serious political party as its councillorship candidate.

The position Ekene, a failed governorship candidate expressed, is pitiable and has actually exposed his weaknesses, shocking vapidity and lack of character to even aspire for the post of councillorship. Even his claim as a ‘governorship candidate’ of a “mushroom” party, one expects him to present to the public his vision and manifesto. Instead he mischievously chose to embark on fruitless smear campaign against a humble, kindhearted, peaceful and high-performing governor, just because he knows Governor Ugwuanyi is God- fearing, peaceful and chooses not to attack his enemies.

Ekene’s allegations hold no substance at all because it is on record that Governor Ugwuanyi’s administration has constructed and renovated over 379 primary and secondary schools in Enugu State. It is also on record that Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration has recruited over 4000 primary and secondary school teachers – the highest in the history of Enugu State.

The Organized Labour has at various fora attested to this fact. Ekene Uzodinma may do well to Google it online. Ekene, the so-called United Progressive Party (UPP) governorship candidate in Enugu State should get his facts right. He may also wish to Google Governor Ugwuanyi’s achievements in the internet and see his great feats in in spite of the nation’s economic challenges and state’s lean resources.

Governor Ugwuanyi pays workers’ salaries on the 23rd of every month, he did on the month of June and july this year without the receipt federal allocation, and Ekene deliberately didn’t reflect that in his baseless, mischievous and watery write up.

Every community out of the 480 autonomous communities in Enugu State including Ekens’s, is currently engaged with at least one priority development project, courtesy of Governor Ugwuanyi’s “One Community, One Project” programme, and this feat does not mean anything to Ekene.

Mr. Ekene’s submission on the International Conference Centre shows clearly that he is an agent of mischief, because not too long ago, it was widely reported in the media the state government’s decision to commence completion work on the project.

It is either Ekene is not in Enugu State or he has deliberately chosen to subvert the truth in a failed attempt to achieve a selfish political end.

On other unfounded allegations he raised, from the fact-checks delivered here, it is clear that Ekene’s tissues of lies remain what there are and should be disregarded accordingly.

It is obvious that Ekene is being sponsored by known enemies of peace and good governance in the state. Wait for this writer and the good people of Enugu State, we are coming to expose you.
