The Chairman/CEO, Jimez Petroleum Resources Limited, Hon. Chief Jim Okolo Chimezie has bagged the Personality of the Year award at the recently held ECOWAS Parliamentary Dialogue and award ceremony.
The award was organised by Parliament Diary Dialogue, which is a media-driven initiative aimed at promoting informed dialogue and fostering a deeper understanding of complex issues affecting Nigeria and the entire ECOWAS region.
The dialogue and award ceremony held June 20, 2024, at the main auditorium of the Nigerian National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja-Nigeria which focused on the theme “Coups d’etats and ECOWAS Unity: The Role of National Assemblies.”
It was an opportunity for a diverse range of speakers to discuss the theme and share their perspectives on the role of national assemblies in addressing coups d’etats and promoting ECOWAS unity.
After the keynote speech which focused on “Coups d’etats and ECOWAS Unity: The Role of the Nigeria National Assembly”, there was also a panel discussion which featured a diverse range of speakers representing the Nigerian government, the Nigerian National Assembly, the Nigerian military, the ECOWAS Commission, the ECOWAS Parliament, and civil society.
The conferment of Awards was to recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to promote good governance and build democracy in Africa.
This is one of the series of recognitions Hon. Jim Okolo has received in recent times.
He was earlier in the month honoured with the award of Nigerian Soccer Ambassador 2024 by Miss Football Nigeria Nigeria Organization.
He was also decorated as National Patron of Miss Football Nigeria at an event which held at National Merit House, Maitama Abuja.
