President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday received the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, at his private residence in Lagos, amid growing speculation over a possible defection of the governor to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Also present at the meeting were Chief Adedeji Adeleke, a renowned businessman and elder brother to the governor, and his son, global Afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
The visit, which has generated buzz both on and off social media, was disclosed by President Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.
“The President received in audience the Executive Governor of Osun State, H.E. Ademola Adeleke, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, and Afrobeat star Davido at his residence in Lagos,” the presidential aide wrote, sharing photos from the meeting.
While the agenda of the closed-door session remains undisclosed, the timing of the visit has sparked fresh conversations within political circles, with some linking it to rumours of a planned political realignment in Osun ahead of the 2026 governorship race.
