Dr. Mary Alile-Idele, the National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed her appreciation for Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State.

She commended him for his dedicated efforts in boosting women’s participation in politics within the state.

Dr. Alile-Idele highlighted Governor Alia’s provision of financial assistance to over 5,000 women across the 23 local government areas in Benue.

She said this support is part of her initiative aimed at empowering women politically and economically.

The commendation was made in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, during the launch of the pilot scheme of her nationwide initiative, “Project 774 Explode Initiative.”

The programme aims to mobilize and empower women in politics across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

A statement from her media office in Abuja on Friday emphasized that the primary goal of “Project 774 Explode Initiative” is to expand the gender space in politics by ensuring active participation of women in the political landscape and decision-making processes.

Dr. Alile-Idele praised Governor Alia for pioneering the project and for his commitment to women’s empowerment, which she described as crucial for sustainable development. She urged other state leaders to emulate Governor Alia’s efforts in creating opportunities for women to thrive in both public and private sectors.

She further emphasized that Governor Alia’s dedication to the “Project 774 Explode Initiative” reflects his vision for a more inclusive and equitable Benue State. “We commend the governor for his unwavering support for women’s empowerment. His entrepreneurial support for women and his commitment to the ‘Project 774 Explode Initiative’ will undoubtedly lead to a stronger, more vibrant, and empowered women’s community in Benue State,” she stated.
