The defection spree from the All Progressives Congress (APC) seems unrelenting as a chieftain of the party and a former governorship aspirant in Cross River State, Chief Patrick Okomiso has announced his defection to the Labour Party and has snatched the party’s ticket for Cross River Central Senatorial ticket.
Chief Okomiso’s decision came barely 72 hours after another chieftain and member representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Daniel Asuquo defected to Labour Party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In an interview with newsmen in Abuja, the Security expert and politician says his decision to dump the APC for LP was to properly align with his people in emerging Nigeria.
According to him, “the major reason why I’m in politics is to better the lot of the people as any political party that cannot afford me such opportunity does not deserve my membership” he declared.
On why he has chosen to pursue his aspiration on the platform of the Labour Party, the former Cross River State governorship aspirant said, parties do not win elections but people as there is nothing like a big or small party.
