So far nobody knows the reason why they were brutally killed by ethic group(s) believed to be Christians in Plateau State. The two commercial buses according to eye witnesses are heading to Plateau State from Bauchi where they went on annual religious zikr.
Acting on local intelligence, the two buses was said to have been stopped while all passengers were scrutinized, selecting only those they identify as Muslims amongst the innocent passengers and gruesomely killed 33 of them. This paper learnt that troughout the terror attack that lasted about two hours no police or any security intervention until after ALL the 33 Muslims were summarily killed.
While lamenting and commenting on the gruesome terror attacks by suspected Christian Youths which is not the first time in roads leading to Plateau State (as even an Army General, a Muslim, Gen. Alkali and many others were once victims), former Senator, Comrade Shehu Sani said ” The gruesome killings of Muslim faithfuls in Plateau State by Hoodlums while on their way back from the ‘Annual Zikr prayers’ in Bauchi state stands unreservedly condemned. It’s an unprovoked cold murder of innocent citizens.
The Governor of Plateau state and the FG must take an immediate action to ensure the culprits are apprehended and brought to book.
“They stopped two buses on transit, forcefully disembarked the passengers, selected them based on their religious faith and gruesomely hacked them to death; this is an unspeakable act of cruelty and evil. We now have widows and orphans, left behind, whose lives have been ruined by a beastly gang”.
There is need to investigate this latest acts of provocation and terror which is capable of instigating reprisal attacks and to ensure that the culprits that are vent in creating tension and religions crisis are brought to book as we are yet to see the outcome of the case of ALL those that were found culpable against similar acts of violence, barbarism and killing of an innocent Maj Gen Alkali.
