THE FUTURE OF NIGERIA LIES IN INNOVATION, SCIENCE, AND TECHNOLOGY, NOT IN VIOLENT PROTESTS

The future of Nigeria will not be shaped by violent protests but by strategic investments in science and technology, driving innovation and development across critical sectors of our economy.

Great nations are not defined merely by their land mass or population density, but by their ability to harness innovation, science, and technology to create new products, jobs, and services that lead the global market. Countries like Japan and South Korea exemplify this, with their leading brands in electronics and automobiles generating substantial income on the world stage.

Despite its limited landmass and population, Japan has built a world-class economy through relentless innovation and technological advancements. Similarly, Israel, with its advanced agricultural technology, has thrived despite lacking extensive arable land or a large population.

Fortunately, Nigeria’s Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology is now led by an Igbo man with a visionary approach. His mission is threefold: to commercialize research, develop new industries, and create jobs.

It is essential to prepare our children, teenagers, and young adults in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to be a part of this transformative journey. Encourage the ingenuity in your young ones through science education, particularly in renewable energy alternatives like solar PV module installation.

We must shift from a generation of “keke riders” to a tech-savvy youth, equipped with the skills to thrive in innovation, science, and technology. This transition is not only honorable but also holds vast potential for income generation and dignified employment. We are grateful that Chief Uche Nnaji NWAKIBIE is paving the way for the creation of millionaire entrepreneurs through the innovation, science, and technology value chain.

The “Renewed Hope” initiative is moving us from dependency on handouts to hands-on skills and enterprise in science and technology. As we embrace this mandate, we fulfill God’s command for mankind to have dominion over all creation—sky, sea, earth, and all within them—through innovation, science, and technology.

Nigeria will rise again.
