FCC Chairman Omidiran to Headline Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026, Spotlighting Pathways to Jobs, Scholarships and Enterprise Opportunities for Enugu Youths

ENUGU, Nigeria –
FCC Chairman Omidiran is scheduled to speak on Youth Opportunities at Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026 in Enugu.

The Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026, scheduled for September 10 at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Enugu.
The event, themed “Beyond Quotas: Unlocking Opportunities for Enugu Youths Through the Federal Character Commission,” is expected to convene young people from across the state for discussions on employment, education, entrepreneurship, inclusion, leadership and access to opportunities.

The programme is being organised by Hon. Peter Ogbonna Eze, the Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State at the FCC and Chairman of the Commission’s Committee on Works, Transport and Aviation.

According to Eze, the initiative was conceived to address one of the major challenges facing many young Nigerians: limited access to timely and credible information about available opportunities.
“Many young people possess the talent, qualifications and determination needed to succeed, but often lack the information and guidance required to identify and access legitimate opportunities,” he said.

He explained that the programme is designed to connect participants directly with information, practical insights and institutions that can help them pursue opportunities at both national and international levels.

The event is expected to attract graduates, students, entrepreneurs, professionals, job seekers and other young people from the 17 local government areas of Enugu State.

Key discussions will focus on access to jobs, scholarships, grants, fellowships, internships, government programmes, private-sector opportunities, digital economy initiatives, entrepreneurship, career development and leadership pathways.

Omidiran’s participation will provide participants with a deeper understanding of the Federal Character Commission’s role in promoting equitable representation and fostering fair access to public-sector opportunities across Nigeria.

The FCC Chairman is also expected to discuss how young people can better position themselves to benefit from opportunities within government institutions while contributing meaningfully to national development.

A special session on “Connecting Youths in Enugu State to the European Union Market for Apiculture Products” will highlight emerging opportunities in honey production, beekeeping and export-oriented agribusiness, sectors increasingly recognized as potential sources of employment and economic growth.

Eze urged young people to take advantage of the programme, noting that success often depends not only on qualifications but also on access to reliable information, preparedness and persistence.

He enjoin the participants to move beyond waiting for opportunities and instead develop the skills, networks and knowledge needed to identify and pursue them.

Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026 is more than a one-day event. It is intended to spark a wider conversation about youth development, inclusion and economic empowerment in Enugu State, with a focus on transforming information into action and opportunities into measurable outcomes.
