Unveiling at the ongoing Enugu Tech Fest with the theme “Coal to Code”, which held from May 7-9, 2025, at the International Conference Centre, Enugu, Kezzy Tom-Tukura, Executive Assistant to the Chairman of 9thTech, a subsidiary of 9th Holdings Group, revealed that the platform offer services beyond buying and selling.
“9th Marketplace is an online shopping store where you can buy building materials, household items and much more. We also offer services, which means you can hire professionals like electricians, surveyors; artisans like plumbers for all your needs.
“We also provide logistics services, so you can come on our platform to hire some services, you can also buy and sell Real Estate at 9th Marketplace.”
Explaining that the platform will debut in Lagos, Port Harcourt and South Africa, Tom-Tukura who described the acceptance in Enugu as exhilarating, also noted that while customers and vendors could download the 9th Marketplace app from play store, services were also available via www.9th.africa/marketplace.
“From day one it has been energetic, it has been exhilarating, we are having a real fun time here, it has been great in Enugu so far.
“We have got to connect with our community that we have already built here and we have got to meet so many other great people and personalities and connect with some other companies for future partnerships as well”.
Our correspondent who spoke to some persons who visited the 9th Marketplace booth reports that the Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani and Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, the Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly were among dignitaries who were at the debut of 9th Marketplace.
The Secretary of Nkanu West Local Government Area and Chairman of Pacesetter Frontier, Onochie Igwesi, was also at the booth of the E-commerce platform.
Speaking to PACESETTER, Eze Chiamaka Juliet, a vendor could not hide her excitement.
“It was a very nice experience actually, everybody at 9th Marketplace was friendly and welcoming. I was able to register as a vendor because I sell shoes. They helped me out and I registered as a vendor, so, now my store is live on their website”.
Another, Michael Ikpere said: “I went through the app and saw a lot of things I don’t have and I would love to purchase. I think they have a lot of construction things and that’s what I am into. I think I will be able to patronize and also check other things on the app”.
For Ebubechukwu Nwachukwu, “According to what I experienced here, the website is really nice. It has a lot of things that I really want because I can’t just go to the market to buy all these things when I can easily order them online. So, I find it very interesting and amazing”.
