50 years after Morehouse College Glee Club, Atlanta, Georgia, US, visited Nigeria for a music concert and tour, the Club is currently back on a second historic visit on intercultural music concert which symbolically promotes the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and US, especially in the creative space.

The team from Morehouse College comprising students who are Black Americans and their teachers, led by the Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate General, Lagos, Stephen Ibelli, was in Enugu State during the weekend for the concert, where they separately and jointly staged captivating, nostalgic, thrilling and heartwarming renditions in American, African and Igbo languages, with students of selected schools in Enugu such as College of the Immaculate Conception (CIC).

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, who was profusely commended by the Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate General, Lagos, Ibelli, for his invaluable support to the project, was personally present at the two-day event which took place at Nike Lake Resort and Michael Okpara Square, Enugu, respectively.

The governor’s presence was to identify, facilitate and encourage the students on the core values and inherent benefits of the programme in promoting education through scholarship, cultural transfer, creative arts and bilateral relationship between Nigeria and the US.

The Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof. Malachy Okwueze, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ugonna Ibe, his Science and Technology counterpart, Sir Obi Kama and the Executive Secretary, Enugu State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ENS-PHCDA), Dr. George Ugwu, accompanied Gov. Ugwuanyi to the memorable event.
