Paul Ibe, the media aide to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has expressed confidence that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike would work for the party’s victory in 2023.
This is coming after Atiku picked the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate despite the call for the former Vice President to pick Wike as his running mate.
Ibe in an interview with Punch said Okowa was chosen because he shares similar goals and vision with Atiku.
He said, “Okowa complements and shares with the candidate the vision of a united Nigeria.”
Ibe who spoke on Wike losing out the vice president slot said he has not complained about the development as he is a strong party man.
He further stated that Atiku is still reaching out to ensure that there is unity in the party so that everyone can be brought on board.
Ibe said, “Wike himself has not complained. He is a strong party man who will match his desire with a commitment to ensure that PDP wins the election.
“The candidate is still reaching out to ensure that there is a united front so that everybody will be brought on board. All of them will work together to ensure the success of the party.”
