The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, on Sunday stated that he does not underestimate the power of the opposition parties ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Adamu in his statement said he has no reason whatsoever to doubt his opponents in the 2023 race.
The APC Chairman further stated that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi mean well for Nigerians.
Adamu stated this during an interview on Arise TV on Sunday.
He said, “Honestly I have never underestimated the capacity of my opponents, I will not do so now. This is not the first time I will be party chairman, I have been secretary of the party, I have been chairman of the party at the state level I have faced elections, I have won some and lost some, and I have no reason whatsoever to doubt my opponent.
“Peter Obi I knew him when he was governor of Anambra state, I visited him. This is a man who mean well as far as I’m concerned, from his outbursts you will know he mean well for Nigeria. He is well grounded, I don’t have doubts about that.
“So I have no reason whatsoever to underestimate his ability to lead his supporters to victory.”
Adamu, however, boasted that the ruling party is more organised than the opposition party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He said, “I am telling you that we are better organized. We have a higher number of followership. We have got the register of members of the party, you can verify it.
“These other parties don’t have.
“I don’t contemplate any situation that will make us not win the election in 2023.”
